You are still incorrect regarding your assumptions surrounding the membership and identity of the Council. And you still offer no specifics, if you expect me to learn, then you will have to help provide examples of what you mean.
Ok, let's look at this logically....[snipped]
Look at it however you like, I have explained my position on the subject: I speak for myself and myself alone. I do not speak as a Council member, or as a representative thereof. This is all I have the authority or right to say. I am sorry that you find this unsatisfying, and I am more than happy to answer for anything I specifically said. If I mis-spoke, or mis-represented myself, I am more than happy to clarify or correct what I said. I will not however, be held accountable for loose generalizations.
Furthermore, you should know that you and other Full Mystics rarely say anything in plain speech so to find the meaning(s) requires digging and searching. I see now that this is a form of protection so when someone calls you on what you said, you can say that you never said that. Unless this is an accident, I believe that you know exactly what you said that Aravir is referring to.
No, I have no idea what Aravir was referring to. He sites two huge blocks of text, which include tens of thousands of words, and opinions and points of view from many, many different exiles. Further, his reference clearly contains a considerable subjective judgment which I fail to follow or understand, and which he refuses to explain.
So, you have no specifics to offer then? Fine.
I doubt you'd understand because of how you view the Brions and how we view the Brions. You view them as fellow scholars and we view them as dangerous foes and if you can't understand why we have our view then you won't understand why we think that dealing with them is such a danger to Puddleby no matter what they say they'll offer us.
Ahhh... finally, a specific! So, you believe that I view the 'Brions as "fellow scholars" is that correct? And should I further assume that you believe that I am kindly disposed to them as a result?
Assuming the above is so, should I further assume that you would be surprised should I reveal an opinion on the 'Brions which paints them variously as: Powerful, dangerous, capricious, moody, vengeful, spiteful, and out to trick exiles out of some value that exiles do not fully understand? A force to be regarded with the utmost suspicion and dealt with (if at all) only with the greatest of caution?
That sounds like a challenge at the very least. Further, my initial responses were specifically to address the comments here by "unregistered."
A challenge which you didn't take up.
You are incorrect: Aravir specifically called me narrow-minded (despite your assumption to the contrary) I invited and entreated him to explain himself and to educate me in such areas he felt I was lacking. He refused. Further more, I offer you the same, explain what it is you think I've missed, explain how you interpreted my words, I invite and entreat you also to educate me. And so I have answered this challenge twice.
While that page doesn't have any unregistered, I remember that post. It was made by Ruen and she later said that she was the one who made that post.
If the scribe you employ to collect and format pages for you, performs differently than the scribe I employ, that is hardly my responsibility.
And as for the message in question: Ruen later admitted to making an
"unregistered" post, and like you I assume the one I referred to was hers, but I do not know for sure. In the post to which I referred, the author spoke at length in the "OOC" language our host (Aravir) dislikes so much. I responded in kind, attempting to explain to the author why the Guild appears as it does to outside eyes. In said post of mine, I offered a modern interpretation of the writings of the Ancients on the subject. "Unregistered" made a later response to Aravir himself, and to Luminary. Later still Ruen spoke, and made reference to my original post, but pretended not to understand the material I said in the "OOC" language. If the "unregistered" author was indeed Ruen, then it was hypocritical of her to begin her address in that "OOC" language, and then later pretend not to understand it. Ruen (if it was indeed her) questioned the underlying structure of the Guild. I attempted to explain, to address her concerns, her "attacks." She then pretended she was incapable of understanding the explanation.
Ahhh, what is my opinion then? Pray enlighten me.
I think your opinion is what the Mystic Council's opinion is.
I have answered this, think what you like, you remain however, incorrect. Further more, you have not answered the question, either the context, or the subtext thereof. "What is my opinion?" You seem quite sure of yourself, I am curious as to what you believe.
