24th day of Autumn, 567 (by Aravir Eldanar - 6:48 PM) -> ( No Replies)
gmvdefenders.gif Today I joined a group of exiles gathered in the northern part of the Greymyr Village to defend against an ethereal incursion that MaryJane had warned about. This time we had plenty of warning (so much that I sat around for nine hours waiting), and a much larger force of defenders, but we were still unable to defeat the incursion.

When the incursion began we were driven back to the part of the village where the Greymyr chief lives, and we were able to rescue the fallen pretty quickly. Unfortunately the opposition was strong enough that, although we were able to reach the area where site of the incursion several times, we were unable to secure it so that MaryJane could place her kyuem.

runningfallen.gif On my way back from hunting on the cloud I ran into an abyssal hunter invasion at South Gate. To make things worse, as I tried to run away and earthquake struck and prevented me from fleeing. Somehow after a frozen abyssal hunter got me, I was trapped running in place while fallen. I was pretty tired by the time help arrived!

8th day of Spring, 567 (by Aravir Eldanar - 6:40 PM) -> ( No Replies)
gmvsurvivors.gif On leaving the library I learned that an ethereal incursion was expected in the Greymyr Village at any moment. Unfortunately, there were no mystics around at the time and few strong fighters. Eventually Asenath came out of the library, and a small party assembled in North Pass for an attack on the ethereal forces (which had by that time been present for quite a while), but we never really stood a chance.

The sketch was made after our initial assault, when our entire force had been reduced to two fighters, two healers, a mystic, and an archaeologist.

Eventually more fighters and healers arrived, and we were able to rescue the fallen, but it was too late to place a kyuem. The very short notice for this incursion was certainly a factor in our failure--if the forces present by the end had been there all before the incursion started, we might well have succeeded.
