I spoke with Darshak Goliath at the West Gate of Puddleby on the 82nd of Winter, 546. There was a large battle against the Darshak on the ocean, and the conversation took place as the exiles were winning. The conversation was interrupted briefly by a young exile who accosted Goliath while I was attempting to get information from him, and I've edited out many irrelevant sunstone messages and comments from this transcript.

Aravir says, "Goliath..."
(Darshak Goliath listens)
Aravir says, "Tripp told me a story about you..."
Aravir says, "that you had threatened an invasion..."
Aravir says, "intended to brand all the exiles..."
Aravir says, "and had a boat named "Morp""
Aravir says, "Aerizith said he was there and you said no such things"
Darshak Goliath says, "That is mostly fiction."
(Aravir nods)
Darshak Goliath says, "I would never name my a sea-worthy vessel "Morp", for one thing."
(Aravir nods)
(Aldernon glares at the ragged pirate)
Darshak Goliath says, "Branding all exiles is a waste of time, besides I don't brand."
Aravir asks, "you did make the truce offer Aerizith relayed to me though?"
Darshak Goliath says, "And as for the threat of an invasion."
Darshak Goliath says, "Well, I did not threaten it. I was merely expecting it."
Darshak Goliath says, "Now."
Aravir says, "Aerizith told me you had offered..."
Darshak Goliath says, "I believe it is my turn for questioning."
Darshak Goliath says, "Yes."
Aravir says, "that if we left Ash alone and gave you a book, you would leave us along"
Darshak Goliath says, "It is a very simple offer."
(Aravir nods)
Aravir says, "I just wanted to be clear on who was telling me the truth"
Darshak Goliath says, "Disregard the book, we already have it."
Darshak Goliath says, "It was just recently returned to our libraries."
Aravir says, "I know about that"
Darshak Goliath says, "I doubt you exiles can stay off of Ash, though."
Aravir ponders, "Can't dispute that..."
Darshak Goliath says, "Now you may understand a bit of our anger."
Darshak Goliath says, "Tripp must have conjured up those stories after I did not provide information to him that he demanded."
(Aravir nods)
Aravir says, "So I believed"
Darshak Goliath says, "He wishes to know of secret Navy operations that I will not undisclose."
Aravir says, "I'm sure you realize that negotiating with exiles is impossible... even if some exiles wanted to negotiate with the Darshak"

Darshak Goliath asks, "Who is the leader of the Bane?"
Aravir says, "Leader? We don't really have a leader..."
Darshak Goliath says, "Yes, I gathered. That is why this war will never end until one side wins."
Darshak Goliath says, "It's unavoidable, and it is your fault."
Aravir says, "I've informed the other Bane member around that you are here"
Darshak Goliath says, "Not you personally, of course."
Aravir says, "Yes, well, not turning everyone into soul-drained zombies does lead to a certain amount of chaos at times"
Darshak Goliath says, "Indigo is no longer trusted by me because of certain actions of violence she tried to take."
Aravir says, "Well..."
Darshak Goliath asks, "What is the Bane's next course of action agianst our kind?"
Aravir says, "you are a representative of an evil theocracy..."
Aravir says, "you should expect a certain amount of hostility"
Darshak Goliath says, "If that is how you look at it."
Darshak Goliath says, "I see many things you do evil as well."
Aravir says, "Seldom do people go around saying, "boy I'm evil""
Darshak Goliath says, "As to note you where all sent here because of one crime or another."
(Aravir laughs)
(Darshak Goliath smirks)
WorldWalker says, "Excuse my language, but"
WorldWalker exclaims, "HORSESHIT!"
Aravir says, "Not all exiles were sent here by Mobius"
Darshak Goliath says, "Aye, but the majority."
WorldWalker says, "Some of us were exiled here by Mobius for no crime"
Aravir says, "I also find it very ironic that a Darshak should be commenting on us being exiled for crimes againt the Ascendancy"
WorldWalker says, "simply for being "different""
Aravir asks, "Don't you know your own history?"
Darshak Goliath exclaims, "Bwuha!"
Darshak Goliath says, "You are trying to avoid the point, yes, I know my history."
Aravir asks, "Oh, was there a point somewhere?"
Darshak Goliath says, "We have great ships that take us to places you will never see."
Aravir says, "Feel free to go there, and take all your friends with you."
Darshak Goliath says, "Only when you fully pollute the etheral plane with your parasitic presence, will you be able to do so."
Darshak Goliath says, "The point is you are no less evil than we."
Darshak Goliath says, "We don't go around killing harmless animals for fun and profit."
Aravir ponders, "The Darshak believe in moral relativism... gee, there's a surprise"
Wesgürd nods and smiles at Pyropoultry.
Darshak Goliath says, "We don't kill our own comrades in any arenas, either."
Darshak Goliath says, "But we do torture those who do."
Darshak Goliath says, "And we enjoy it."
Aravir says, "I've noticed"
Darshak Goliath says, "It is not like I haven't seen the flames in the eyes of invading exiles as they hack my swabbies to peices."
Darshak Goliath says, "They love it just as much as we do."
Darshak Goliath says, "And no sir, you cannot deny that."
Aravir asks, "Why would I?"
Darshak Goliath says, "And good day to you sir, I have other matters."
Aravir says, "I find it quite odd that you think that worth commenting on, though"
Justinian says, "things change fast around here"
(Darshak Goliath sighs)
Justinian says, "push darshak goliath"
Justinian says, "oops"
Aravir says, "leave him alone"
Justinian exclaims, "i mean, Hi!"
Aravir says, "He's just talking"

WorldWalker says, "Well that was interesting"

WorldWalker says, "He has a point about one thing, though"
Darshak Goliath yells, "Yes Justinian, your time will be up soon."
Aravir says, "I've encountered humans who worship a strange religion..."
WorldWalker says, "Puddleby's exiles are just as bloodthirsty as the Darshak"
WorldWalker says, "As a generalization of course"
Aravir says, "a religion that believes that the lowest insect is worth more than the most noble human"
Aravir says, "They call it "environmentalism""
Lundar thinks, "fallens in the horde"
Darshak Goliath says, "Dumb kid."
Darshak Goliath says, "Aravir"
Darshak Goliath says, "Toss me five shiny ones, would yah? For the ride home..."

Darshak Goliath says, "You are foolish to mock me."
Aravir thinks, "Darshak Goliah is begging for boat fare!"
Aravir asks, "Mock you?"
Aravir exclaims, "I don't even need to!"
Darshak Goliath says, "I simply do not use your currency."
(Aravir laughs)
WorldWalker says, "So go earn it"
Aravir says, "I'm sorry, I try not to be rude even to enemies, but..."
WorldWalker says, "Oh, that's right, you don't kill helpless animals"
Aravir says, "You making threats about how strong the Darshak are and then begging for spare change..."
