Just arrived home from my slightly extended holiday in Scotland. My fiancee and I travelled to Hunters Quay near Dunoon to spend the week in a lodge. We had previously stayed at another lodge within the same holiday group in Drimsynie and that was lovely. So we were slightly dissapointed to find that the lodge we booked was apart from being a bit on the basic side, it also smelt and was not in the best condition. So we went off and complained at the reception and we managed to get moved to one of the new caravans they had. I would recomend them they are really nice inside!

Anyway after all that commotion we settled in our caravan and enjoyed the rest of our holiay. I think we must have covered most of the west coast of Scotland during our stay there. We visited Cowal Bird garden first - which was really nice -although it turns out that my fiancee is scared of birds and especially chickens! This was made worse by the fact that the chickens were roaming free in the park so naturally fun was had by all ;)

We also went up to Inverary and visited the jail they had there. It was extremely interesting the way the prison service and attitude to criminals has changed over the years. It also really brought home how much of a holiday camp prison looks these days as it covered Barlinnie prison at the very end of the tour.

The year before we came here we had gone to Oban sea life centre and had absolutely loved it. So this year we decided to repeat the journey. It took about an hour and a half to drive there from Dunoon but it was well worth it. They have just recently added otters to their collection and they are gorgeous little things. We also watched them feeding the baby seals and saw the larger seals as well. They have quite a large collection of different fish and sharks as well there. They also have a few really odd looking things which I am not quite sure what category they belong in. :)

On the way home we went into Vikingar at Largs which was interesting but fairly quiet for a saturday.

We somehow managed to cover 390 miles in the car that week so we were pretty tired when we got back. On top of that I had said to my parents that I would help sort out a problem with my sisters computer so as soon as we left the ferry we headed back to my parent house as my dad was going to drive me up to my sisters in Dundee.

So that brings me up to today. Out my bed at 4:30 this morning and in the car at 5:00. Left ayrshire and headed to Dundee. We made it there about 6:45 and I went to work on my sisters computer. At 8:30 I was done and it was back in the car heading for Glasgow as my dad was going to work and was dropping me off there on route. Then had to walk from Charing Cross in Glasgow to my house which took approx an hour to walk.

What a week! Im off to bed. :)

If I get my scanner working I may post some of the holiday snaps up on the blog.

Chris
