The occurance of love heart designs made from chewing gum squashed into the pavements around Glasgow city centre has bee puzzling me for a wee while now. There used to be one on the corner of George Square but it's been removed by the 'Gum Laser' type thing but there are others around, just look down while you walk. The obvious source of these pieces of modern art are the Glesgie Ned but why? Are they capable of love? On reflection they do seem to enjoy emblazoning bus shelters with declarations of "Linzi Maree -B- Lvs Smithy IDST" and such like but they don't seem to do names in gum. Is there not enough left in the packet?
