Lance showed up to ride to Web Ridge with me at 8. Mike Riddle stopped on his way to work on his motorcycle to ask if I was going for a ride. But save one lone cyclists on going East on highway 12, I so no other cyclists all day, yesterday.

So, after Web Ridge it was solo for me. Weather permitting, I had always considered a century. Now, alone, my options were to do Winchester or out to Kendrick and around to Troy and Moscow. Climbing those hills didn't sound attractive knowing Sean's leading us around Soldier's Meadows on Sunday. I stayed with the called for route over Cottonwood Creek Drainage but I added a jog out to Zoey's Cafe for lunch. By skipping the boat launch on the return trip and riding up Evans, I got within a 1.5 of a century. Without hesitation I pedalled past my road to add the extra mileage.

While I much prefer company and on such a fine day couldn't quite grasp that I was alone, it was nice to ride always at my pace, stopping when I wanted, staying as long as I wanted.

But I missed my nap on the grass.
