Pouring rain lead Lance to cancell the club's planned Trail of the Couer d'Alenes for the weekend. Steve and I found ourselves in the company of Lance, Sean, Mike, Debbie and Scott for an afternoon ride under sunny skies.
Sean loves those hills and lobbied for a Lewiston Loop with the Grade thrown in for a challenge. We opted fro 21st street rather than MacIntosh and no one complained about the shorter climb. Debbie opted to wait at the boat launch rather than wear herself out today. She plans to ride a longer distance tomorrow.
Part way up separator grade, Mike stopped to take a call from Nicky which turned out to be an arrangement to attend church tonight allowing him to start at 8 with us tomorrow. That meant he and Sean turned back without climbing the grade since it was already 3 when we started up.
Lance, Scott, Steve and I continued on up on this gorgeous afternoon enjoying something of a tailwind for the climb. The air was clean and cold definitely making arm warmers a pleasant additon for the descent, though not essential.
Hope to see club members tomorrow for a portion of the ride. For the ride of it.
