The wind was a factor for cyclists all weekend with the possible exception of those youngsters doing the crit downtown. No way to take advantage of a west wind on Sunday unless you count that 12 miles back from Steptoe Canyon. If it hadn't have been for that tailwind, we'd have been some sorry cyclists.
Riders: Cliff, Linda, Corrie, Mike, Nicky, Carol, Sean, Debbie and Scott.
I was worried when Sean didn't show up at the boat launch. We had planned to ride the mountain bikes to Uniontown and then down Steptoe Canyon. Good plan but I was the only one on a fat tire bike. Not if Mike who usually likes a chance to go like mad down a gravel road. Fortunately Sean and Carol were only running late and they joined us before we crossed Memorial Bridge.

It looked bad for a while, but then Carol decided to tough it out to make the loop down Steptoe Canyon.
Despite not having much time to ride, Carol went the entire route not even dropping a chain.

NakedMan makes his 2005 reappearance. Chilly in that wind, Scott?
Scott was sleep deprived but he didn't forget his shirt.

Pedaling hard into the wind on a gravel road, I came around a bend to see this fellow silhouetted against the western sky.

Facing a head wind's no problem for Nicky, if Mike will pull.
