Given the green light to get closer to his usual life style, Chris chooses to restrain the urge to hammer and ride with the group. He was quiet and docile all day and only slipped when we fell back riding on Highway 12. We figured he'd reverted to hammering on home when there he was waiting on one of the frontage roads.

Last Sunday's Autumn Century got rained out. I got cheated out of my century and I didn't even have one for September yet. And I only got one in August, too. I decided I'd get one either on Saturday or Sunday. Saturdy proved cold and windy. But Sunday at 8 was gorgeous. I overdressed and found myself stripping off leg warmers at about 9 miles. The temps were in the mid 50s when I left. By 11 when I got home, they had risen only to the low 60s. By the time we started climbing Tammany, though they had soared to the high 70s, maybe the 80s. The best of the riding had been in the morning.

What did Mike do?.

Helen, Linda, Nicky, Mike and I started at the boat launch. Carol and Sean caught us at the top of web ridge and left us again to climb Lindsay creek home. Mike Minnick caught us part way up Tammany but turned around saying he had to wash his car. I accused him of keeping up with the neighbors, but he insisted he only washed it once a year and today was it. Sad be washing a car on such a fine afternoon.

Just a few more weeks until Joseph. Are you ready?
