    Helen Does the Ural Mountains

Helen leaves for her six week bicycle tour of the Ural Mountains on the 10th of June. Here is a Wikipedia Article on the Urals.

See the Itinerary and learn more about Helen's Tour

Helen's Six-week tour from St. Petersburg to Instanbul: Read Blogs here.

She is traveling with ExpditionsPlus. They have provided the following maps and discussion of the area she will be riding through. Look for more on this page as Helen plans to give me the link where the tour will be posting pictures and notes.

ExpeditionsPlus: This essay is a brief primer on the physical geography of Europe. This is the stage setting on which the history of Europe was performed. Of course it oversimplifies the geography of Europe immensely as each "physiographic region" that I mention below can be further dissected and described just as each country could be separately analyzed. This is a start, though, to give you an overview of the essence of Europe. >

That's Helen at the top of Crusty in Alaska. She says, "This was taken on the one sunny day while I was there. This is on the bike path down Turnagain Arm. It was beautiful and we saw one moose."

This picture is from Helen's friends. They say, "It is staying cooler than usual this month. We had another 1" of new snow up here at the house yesterday morning. It's forecast to hit 50 degrees Sat! Bring out the tank tops..."

I don't think we should complain about the rain we got this weekend.--Corrie

. I'd like to say thanks to "The Guys" for their patience, for letting me draft, for their technical help and advice that keeps me on the road, riding with my cherished women friends.

    And don't miss Rain Riders
