Camp in Yep Kanum Park in Colville

With a little breeze through the pines, we kept cool despite the sweltering afternoons. The WAshington Bicycle Ride took us from Mead to Newport, to Box Canyon Dam near Ione, around Lake Sullivan and to Colville, to Northport on Aladdin route and back on the Columbia, to Chewelah (49 degrees North) and Springdale, and finally back to Mead in six days and nearly 400 miles of cycling. Nice work if you can get it.

RamRod is the best! 144 miles, 11,000 feet of climbing, smooth, shady roads with generous shoulders, great support, fantastic scenery.

I just got back home last night after two weeks away that included STP and RamRod. My first concern was to find out how Linda was doing. Lee had left a message on my cell phone about the accident. His wife Carla is a nurse at St. Joe’s so he got the news right away. I’m relieved to hear that Linda is okay and was able to go along for the tour she and Corrie are doing this week!
