I have registered at Talent Scotland. They allowed me to specify that I'm a student, and to submit my CV. I may still feel compelled to apply to companies directly. However, a great many electronics companies have set-ups in central scotland, particularly in Livingston, where the Alba Centre is located, and Talent Scotland will keep me in touch with all of them, to my knowledge.
The ISLI (Institute for System Level Integration) is situated in the Alba Centre. The Alba Campus is home to Cadence's newest - and the world's largest - electronics design centre. It houses 1000 employees, and is the jewel in the crown of Scotland's growing electronics sector.
The ISLI is owned by four of Scotland's best universities - Strathclyde, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Heriot-Watt. Thus, it's quite clearly an educational institution. As such, it offers degrees in SLI - and is the first educational SLI institution in the world.
It is important, then, to understand the sheer enormity of what has emerged in Scotland over the last few years! This is no damp squib - the Alba Centre will hopefully become a major hub for international electronics companies.
Lovely. So let's hope that Talent Scotland let me become a part of this revolution during the summer!
