Feast of Tsrrin
It has been a tradition that every four years when the planets align, the inhabitents of Puddleby celebrate the original heroics of Tsrrin who rescued her town from the Darshak. Keemhan, the story teller, often comes to Puddleby and tells the story. You can read it here, although hearing it in person is so much better if you're lucky enough to be out of the library when Keemhan is in town.
Everyone knows when the Feast of Tsrrin is close when you feel a shiver down your spine.
There is a tent near town center with free costumes you can wear everywhere in Puddleby. Selections include Undine, cats, dogs, plants, the old style of Sylvans, etc. Sometimes the choices are changed as the feast progresses but in other years they remain the same. There's also a special costume which you can get by trading all 12 of your candies. One year this special costume was an Astral Drake and another year it was a Fire Drake.
You can also get a number of candies by going to huts and, if a person answers the door and says "Happy Feast of Tsrrin!", you can get a candy by saying "Trick or Treat!" The huts where you can get the candy are in town and in the surrounding area and it's easy enough for a mystic to get to all of the huts. The kinds of candies you can get are Arachnoid Teeth, Caramel Square, Chocolate Bar, Dark Chocolate Vermine, Drake Drop, Gingerbread Mystic, Greymyr Rock Candy, Lyfe Saver, Maha's Claws, Marshfellow Candy, Orgaberry Gumdrops, Spriggin Bits, and Tangle Taffy. The Lyfe Saver was a new addition in 2003.
Some of these candies have additional uses besides eating and enjoying them. The Chocolate Bar, Drake Drop, Gingerbread Mystic, Greymyr Rock Candy can all be used to identify monsters by holding them in your right hand and bumping them. You can also use them on your fellow exiles.
Near the end of the feast a change comes over all exiles. When we fall we are turned into an Undine and have no control over our bodies. We seek our fellow exiles to make them fall so they will turn into an Undine as well. Sometimes we're attacked by other creatures such as Pumpkinhead Men and Killer Bunnies in 2003 who also seek to turn all exiles into Undine. This part can be quite fun as dozens of exiles turned Undine are chasing the exiles around town.
Finally, the planets move apart from each other and everything returns to normal with no great fanfare. The costume tent is removed and falling is no more dangerous than it used to be and the candies get put back in the candy jars for next time.
