This isn't quite what was requested oh-so-long-ago, and I have some ideas that will eventually make this much, much better, but this is better than what we already had, which was nothing.

  1. Create a new javascript in your site's admin area, named "YahooPaths" (or whatever, it's up to you)

  2. Click on the new javascripts name (in the admin area) to edit it

  3. Paste the text from one of this messages two file enclosures into the text area, and click on Save.
    • yahooPaths.js
      Builds a simple "bread crumbs" or "Yahoo style paths" series of links wherever it's embedded in your page. The final item in the series of links is the page's title, rather than its name.
    • yahooPaths2.js
      Identical to the original yahooPaths.js script (above), except any directory name with a specified character in it (like an underscore) is replaced with a space. Edit the value of the variable "wordSeparator" to specify which character it should look for.

  4. Add this simple macro to your template:

    <!--#javascript name="yahooPaths"-->

Note that this is only useful in pages, not in discussion groups, as DG messages don't really have a path (they're always at the root of the site).
