We've just updated the E-mail interface on Free-Conversant to implement Email Templates.  This feature is similar to the message template feature introduced earlier today... but allows you to select templates that will be used for mail that is being sent out of your conversations.

Templates are defined in the template editor in the Admin interface.  Two sample templates have been added to your sites, "Sample Text Mail", and "Sample HTML Mail", which show you some basic ideas for templates.  The default, or "Built-in" templates for Email remain as they currently stand, with only the message body inserted in the message.

You can select two different templates, one for Plain Text mail, and one for HTML mail.  Currently, sites on Free-Conversant use the "Single Subscriber" mode of the email interface, so you can only select to send HTML to all users, or Plain Text mail to all users. (More details on the Email Interface modes.)  Templates are selected under the conversation preferences of the Email Interface ( "Conversations->[conversationName]->Preferences->Email Interface" in the admin interface ).

Simple macros support in Email Templates are:

msgNum - the # of the message
msgBody - body of the message
msgCreationDate -  date/time of creation
msgCreatorAddress - email address of original poster
msgCreatorName - member name of original poster
msgCtReads - No. of times the message has been viewed
msgModificationDate - date/time of last update to message
msgModifierAddress - email address ( or anonymous email ) of member who last modified message
msgModifierName - member name of last modifier
msgOwner - owner the message is assigned to, can be member or group of members
msgSubject - subject line of the message

Also, several simple macros for linking are provided:

msgURL - returns the URL to the message at the website
convURL - returns the URL of the home page of the conversation website
emailSettingsURL - returns the URL of the member settings page for subscribe/unsubscribe
convId - returns the conversation name
zoneId - returns the name of the zone the conversation is in.

Have a ball!

Say, is there any chance for RSSBox support in email templates? I'm trying
