Today’s Guardian has an article for those who are interested by the intersection of politics, science, and information. In it, George Monbiot, who writes regularly on environmental issues, draws attention to the curious case of the ex-Trotskyites who have swung to the right and appear to be scaling the commanding heights on behalf of the pharmaceutical companies and the genetic modification firms.

The question at the top of the column, “How did a cultish political network become the public face of the scientific establishment?” gets an interesting answer.
