Knowledge management is very much as relevant today as it was when the word for coined for the first time.

We may have had a 'fadless' new millenium as you put it, but that's because we are learning tools and techniques to apply the knowledge management concepts in the most effective manner...there comes a time when we discover something and then it is followed by a time when we chisel our axe and concentrate on how to make the best use of it.

I guess this metaphor will help clear the misconception that growth has suddenly stopped and we are all at the mouth of a standing lake.
