Personally I prefer serif fonts for printed texts. I remember reading that studies have shown that people don't read words by looking at individual letters, but by recognizing the shape of the word. The serif fonts help tie letters together into shapes that make it easier to read.

That being said, I find on web sites I prefer the sans-serif fonts. They seem sharper and clearing on a monitor. The problem I find with the articles in IR is that when the serif font is in bold it is hard to read. The unbolded sans-serif is much better than the bold serif.

Also, you have a link to change from serif to sans-serif, but no link to change back again.

Anyway, it's interesting.
