Just so you know, EverNote Firefox/Thunderbird extensions are available for both 1.0.X and 1.5 -- including the very latest version.

EverNote Corp. has released into the Mozilla extension auto-update as well. So you can simply hit 'Find Updates' in the extension dialog - and it will install the upgraded version for you.
