Welcome to the RealTruth discussion site
RealTruth is dedicated to understanding and deseminating accurate information, particularly about politics, communication, social change, and the post nine/eleven/oh-won world. Please feel free to post articles and information that you feel are pertinent to helping to understand and change the world situation, and to address any subject you feel important.
If you have any suggestions about improvements to this site, please contact me at the email address below
Once people join this list, they can post to it, and everyone who's signed up to be mailed postings will get everything posted, without filtering.
You don't need to go to the site to become a member, all you have to do is send an email (can be blank and without subject) to:
realtruth-subscribe@free-conversant.com -You will then get a confirming email to which you must reply in 24 hours, which will confirm your membership and you'll be mailed a password (you can change later at the site...) - If you sign up via email, you will be automatically enrolled to get posted messages by email - you will have go to the website later to edit your account. There is an archive of everything posted to the group, with a calendar and subject index and search facility.
You can send attachments to the list. They will be mailed out with individual emails to people who set their preferences on the site to receive attachments. You can set a limit for the size of attachments you will be sent by the Conversant software. I have currently set the limit of attachments to be mailed out to 256 kbytes.
You set your preferences by going to Your Account/Preferences/Conversation Prefs/Email Interface. On the Basic tab you can select whether to receive mailings or not, and set a password for posting if you want (can prevent spoofing in posts). On the Multi-Subscriber tab you can set whether HTML mail postings will be sent you as HTML, whether you will receive attachments, and the max. attachment size to send to you. Oh, and one appparently crucial thing - the first page you see when you open up the preferences on your account is the Editing: General page, which has only one tab with one dialogue box on it for timezone. Make sure you set it for your own timezone, or mysterious stuff happens.
