If not for this guy, you wouldn't be reading this now... or using any computing machine for that matter. He was gay, and an award in his name is highly covetted.

Okay, well... lots of cool things to discuss. First off, the pic... These are homemade shoes made popular around the time of WWII.

Humbling to remember a time when war was different, and the media wasn't flashing you rumor like a strobe light.
The brain can seemingly only pay attention to a few things at a time. Given that, and the recent BBC show I watched called "Saving Private Lynch" (torrent ), couldn't you argue that government is herding of people? For good OR bad... either way, it's herding.
Now while the BBC is sensational journalism, its probably best to have a little salt with this meal... but this is the only behind-the-scenes look at "Central Command" (or CenCom as they call it... profusely) that I have seen. If you know of others, please let me know.
Basically, the US freely admits to using the media as a tool to achieve its military goals. Fair enough... I mean... a war is a war is a war. It is important to know that US media is usually anti-British, and vice versa...
Doesn't focusing on Airport safety just inherently mean that other travel is relatively less safe and more vulnerable to attack? ... click for neato old-timey poster talking about the general basic dangers in a train yard.
Alls I knows is, a colleague of mine at work asked me how I was doing in the usual office passing-by hello sort of way and I said somewhat sarcastic that I was getting to be generally a little more paranoid everyday. He said he knew exactly what I was talking about. That was it.
My question is, if the US government prevents the information they release from being corroborated by independent sources... then how is it reliable news at all? I couldn't do a blog post about something, consider it fact, and only have one source that happens to be myself... It would seem hollow, I think.
~*~ and now for something completely different....
Since this is a gay - ish grey/gray blog, some news... I'm working on a bisexuality RSS feed for all blogs that mention the happy medium. This is inspired by the recent gay marriage feed.
Right now, my filtering and site choices aren't all that great, so there's a lot of, well, porny-spam cluttering it up. Feel free to leave a comment with me if you have suggestions for sites / filtering... and stay tuned! Be careful with the links in that feed, however...

... I think it's cool, but Em just says "you just look like a guy wearing women's pants."

Ahem... well... Courtney's estranged father lays the case, as he sees it. Pretty good info! He reads thesmokinggun.com, aparently. This is a follow up to my earlier post about Kurt and all of that on the anniversary of a his death.
