NPR's Fresh Air had a segment about this program. The television network Link TV (Free on DSS) airs a daily news program (coming off a week hiatus monday) that has a 10 minute news round up from several Arabic news stations translated into English.
It's called Mosaic, and there is also an RSS feed!
It is important to think about a global society... Should we all melt into one global culture, or should the world be compartmentalized like a strip mall with culture existing in pre-formed packages? Gloablization, while either good or bad or both, is inevitable.
I was watching Michael Palin's Pole to Pole last night (cause the BT transfer finished, heheh), and as he makes his way through Finland, its pretty ironic when he says that Finland's borders are a product of the 20th century... Finland is actually still just a massively vast and empty space. Had Lawrence divided up the Middle East in a different way, we'd have probably a whole different set of people with the exact same problem... Is it so hard that there are some people that just want "westerners" to piss off?

Anyway... There are lots of great other sites that are talking about politics way better than I could hope... but I feel that it is important to try and get your information from as diverse and as many sources as you can.
The more I dig, I don't feel that there is some big conspiracy by our President (er, at least, no more than any other president past or future), but I do believe there is a shit ton of money and utter bullshit flying around, and a lot of people either pay attention to the wrong things or simply just do not know what all is going on at any given time... and that is exactly what happens when you get enough people together in a large enough group. They also play to the politics of whoever is in office...
For me, at home with the Home Theater PC, nothing could be better than hand-picking video news from around the world... So thank you, Link TV and Mosaic.
